The Soroca Fortress is one of the oldest and most important medieval fortifications in Moldova, known for its unique “shell” design. Built between 1543 and 1545, it played a strategic role in defending the Moldovan State against invaders, with an impressive defense system. Over the centuries, the fortress has witnessed many battles and historical events, remaining a symbol of the region’s resilience and medieval power.
