Program:

Day 1. Saturday. Departure to Madrid (International flight).

Arrival in Madrid on a regular flight from one of the international airlines. Meet and greet at the airport. Transfer and accommodation at the hotel. Rest. Evening tour of Madrid.

 

Day 2. Sunday. Madrid – Toledo – Madrid

Breakfast. Excursion to Toledo, the capital of Visigothic Spain, with a visit to the Cathedral, where unique artistic treasures are collected: works by El Greco, Goya, Caravaggio, etc.

Return to Madrid, with the possibility of visiting the Prado Museum, one of the world's best art galleries.

 

Day 3. Monday. Madrid – Granada

Breakfast. Departure to the south of Spain, to Granada, the city where the process of liberating Spain from the eight-century rule of the Moors was completed at the end of the 15th century. Visit the Alhambra, the most significant monument of Arab Spain. In Spain, they say, "Who has not been to Granada has seen nothing!"

 

Day 4. Tuesday. Granada – Cordoba – Seville

Breakfast. Transfer to Cordoba, the birthplace of the great Maimonides. Visit the Mosque-Cathedral, a unique monument of Arab art founded in 785. Walk through the old part of Cordoba, where the medieval synagogue is preserved.

Transfer to Seville, accommodation at the hotel, rest.

 

Day 5. Wednesday. Seville

Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Seville - Plaza de América and Spain, the Jewish quarter of Santa Cruz, visit to the Cathedral, where the burial place of Christopher Columbus is located.

Free time in Seville.

 

Day 6. Thursday. Seville – Évora – Tomar

Breakfast. Transfer to Portugal, starting with a stop in Évora, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1986. Visit the city park, the palace of King Manuel, the church of St.

Francis, and the Temple of Diana, the main monument of the Roman past in Portugal. Free time for lunch and continue to Tomar.

Accommodation in Tomar, rest.

 

Day 7. Friday. Tomar – Batalha – Óbidos – Lisbon

Breakfast. In the morning, visit the medieval town of Tomar and the Templar monastery, where you will learn about the amazing history of this knightly order. Then, transfer to the city of Batalha, where we will visit the Monastery of Saint Mary of Victory, a symbol of the greatness of the Portuguese monarchy and the pantheon of the dynasty. Free time for lunch.

Transfer to the museum city of Óbidos, which has preserved its appearance surrounded by ancient fortress walls. Opportunity to try the local cherry liqueur in chocolate cups.

Transfer to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, accommodation at the hotel, free time.

 

Day 8. Saturday. Lisbon

Breakfast. After breakfast, a tour of Lisbon: acquaintance with the most interesting architectural monuments and panoramic viewpoints of the capital of Portugal. You will visit the historic district of Belém, see the Jerónimos Monastery - the brightest example of "Manueline" style, where the great sons of Portugal, Vasco da Gama and Luís de Camões, are buried. Opportunity to try the famous Belém pastries. Visit the Belém Tower - the symbol of Lisbon, and the Monument to the Discoverers. The tour continues with an introduction to the center of Lisbon - Avenida da Liberdade, historic squares (Commerce, Rossio, and Restauradores), the oldest districts of Lisbon - Baixa, Alfama, and Bairro Alto.

 

Day 9. Sunday. Lisbon Riviera – Cascais – Estoril – Sintra

Breakfast. Lisbon Riviera - elegant resort towns of Cascais and Estoril with ancient estates and hotels (with an impressive history), medieval fortress-castles, the historic Casino (the oldest in Europe after the casino in Monte Carlo, the setting of the novel "Casino Royale"), etc. Visit the westernmost point of Europe - Cape Roca - "where the land ends and the sun rests in the ocean…". Excursion to the capital of Portuguese romanticism, "...where there is no measure or number to beauty…" - Sintra. In Sintra, visit the National Palace - a majestic medieval castle with a beautiful garden, the summer residence of Portuguese monarchs. Familiarity with unique ceramics and products made of gold and silver of Portuguese production. Return to Lisbon.

 

Day 10. Monday. Departure from Lisbon (International flight)

Breakfast. Transfer to Lisbon Airport. End of the tour.
