Program:

09:30 – Arrival at Tighina Fortress

Tighina Fortress, also known as Bender Fortress, is a historic monument of great importance. Originally built by the Genoese in the 13th century, it was fortified by the Ottomans in the 16th century. It has been a strategic point in numerous conflicts and offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's tumultuous past.

 

 

09:30 – 11:00 – Visit to Tighina Fortress

We will explore the medieval fortress, the fortress museum which houses historical relics, the museum with medieval torture instruments, and Alexandru Nevski Park, a place dedicated to the memory of the fallen heroes.

11:00 – Departure to Tiraspol

Tiraspol, the administrative city on the left bank of the Dniester, where time seems to have stopped in the Soviet era. The architecture, communist symbols, and the general atmosphere offer visitors a unique experience.

11:30 – 13:00 – Walking and bus tour of Tiraspol

We will visit the city's main attractions:

  • Eternity Memorial Complex – dedicated to soldiers who fell in World War II and the 1992 Transnistrian conflict.
  • Suvorov Monument – a city symbol dedicated to Russian General Aleksandr Suvorov, the founder of Tiraspol.
  • The City Hall and Transnistria Government Building – an example of monumental Soviet architecture.
  • De Wollant Park – where the bust of Empress Catherine II stands, one of the most influential figures of the Russian Empire.

 

 

13:30 – 14:30 – Boat ride on the Dniester River

A relaxing trip along the Dniester River, with picturesque landscapes and excellent photo opportunities. During the ride, lunch is available (additional cost).

14:30 – 15:30 – Departure to the New Neamț Monastery

This impressive monastery was founded in the 19th century by monks who fled from the Neamț Monastery in Romania. The religious site is famous for its architecture and the tallest bell tower in Moldova (64 meters).

15:30 – 16:30 – Visit to the New Neamț Monastery

We will explore:

  • The Bell Tower – where you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the region.
  • St. Nicholas Church – a place of prayer filled with spirituality.
  • The Ascension of the Lord Cathedral – the largest religious building of the monastery.

16:30 – Departure to Chișinău

We bid farewell to this fascinating region and head back to the capital.

17:30 – 18:00 – Arrival in Chișinău
