Moldova is a small country in Eastern Europe. Rich soil and a temperate continental climate with warm summers and mild winters have made the country one of the most productive agricultural regions since ancient times, and a major supplier of agricultural products in south-eastern Europe. Moldova's fertile soil produces fruit, vegetables and cereal products and one of the country's most important industries is the wine industry, for which Moldova is known far beyond its borders. For many years, wine production in Moldova has been the main occupation of the population.
Meet the Republic of Moldova
Located in Eastern Europe, Moldova is a country with rich but little-known tourist potential. Bordered by Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, south and east, this corner of the world deserves to be called a 'corner of paradise'.
The pride of Moldavia are its natural landscapes, in some places virgin and enigmatic; its historical sites and fortifications that bear the breath of history and of victorious battles; its wines and cellars that compete with those of France; its churches and monasteries, whose construction has been the result of a lot of soul-searching and healing; the pride of Moldavia are the native people who create the spirit of hospitality in our little country.
Climate
The Republic of Moldova is located in a temperate-continental climate zone, influenced by the proximity to the Black Sea and the interference of the warm-wet air from the Mediterranean area, with insufficient humidity, which causes a high frequency of droughts. Winters are mild and summers hot. Thanks to the four seasons, the surroundings look different every time - spring in the buds and scents of flowers, summer in the gentle beating of the sun's rays and the charm of the fruit, autumn in the multicoloured leaves and of course the flavour of the grapes and winter in the purity of the snow. Each time the gaze is enchanted.
Tourism
Although the Republic of Moldova cannot boast well-defined and developed hiking trails, it has a special beauty. This lies in its rural environment being an agricultural country with the right patriarchal structure and many interesting, colourful, vibrant farms to which is added the hospitality and candour of the locals. Rural tourism emphasises familiarity with the traditions, folklore and entertainments of rural areas and the crafts of the countryside. It is also worth mentioning that the country is home to landscape reserves or geological monuments of great value.
For history buffs and lovers of antiquities, Moldova is an open-air museum, as its territory abounds with religious monuments dating from different eras, as well as important tourist attractions that are part of the cultural heritage of great value, such as manor houses, fortresses, archaeological sites, fortresses, or ethnographic areas with traditional architecture.
